Psst, we want to let you in on a not-so-little secret…we are content partners with Zulily!

What does that mean? We’ve connected with them to share blog posts on a variety of topics to continue to share our resources and tools to help parents survive (and possibly thrive?) during the pandemic.

In our first blog post for the series, Dr. Amanda Zelechoski talks about Pregnancy During COVID-19: 3 Ways to Stay Connect with Your Village. Read on for an excerpt of her post.

Pregnancy During COVID-19: 3 Ways to Stay Connected with Your Village

One of the best parts of becoming a new parent is “joining the club” – entering a community of fellow parents and being surrounded by generations of wisdom and experience to support you. You’ve likely heard the African proverb, “It takes a village to raise a child.”

But, what happens when you are pregnant during COVID and are isolated from your village for any number of reasons? You’ve been waiting for this time when friends and family would tell you how adorable you look pregnant, throw you a baby shower, cry happy tears with you when the adoption was finalized, snuggle your new baby so you can take a shower, and take care of you so you can care for your baby.

How can you make sure this significant pre- and postpartum period doesn’t feel like yet another loss?

As psychologists, researchers, and moms ourselves, our goal is to support parents (and parents-to-be!) with science-based resources during COVID-19. We invite you to tune in for our upcoming webinar Pregnant During a Pandemic: Resources & Support for Before, During & After Pregnancy on October 15. Register today and submit your questions for our three guests to answer from their research expertise and personal experiences.
